Sanatan Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya is the secret Indian battlefield art of the traditional Sikh warriors, the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa Sikhs of North India.

According to orthodox Chinese martial arts, it was an Indian Buddhist monk 'Bodhidharma', who, around AD 520 brought the fighting and philosophical principles to China from India. These art forms subsequently evolved into various Chinese martial arts, and influenced a myriad of other cultures, religions, and affected countless civilisations throughout Asia and beyond.

In addition, the Indian 'Sanatan' concepts of spirituality also spread accordingly and even now, many religious beliefs and practices within Asia can be traced back to India in some form or another. The martial arts and traditions of China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. have spread all over the world and established themselves - the original Indian martial arts are yet to make an equal impression in the wider world.

For the first time in history, in order to revive the true ancient martial heritage and associated practices, this combat system, also known as 'Ayudh Vidiya' is being revealed to the world at large. This site is solely devoted to the promotion of Sanatan Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya!

Even within India, the true fighting arts, known as 'Jang Dee Vidiya' are now very rare. This complete Indian 'Savya Raksha' and 'Jang' unarmed and weapons martial art tradition can be found in the 'Akali Nihang Baba Darbara Singh Sanatan Suraj Bansia Shastar Vidiya Shiv Akhara', founded in 1661.

All concepts and information revealed on www.shastarvidiya.org have been fully backed-up with transcripts of interviews from past and present masters of this art, together with a great variety of historical citations.
