The 'roarer' (but also translates as 'the terrible), referring to the earliest depiction of Shiva, the 'comfort giver' (the Sanatan Indian diety of destruction). The tenth Sikh Guru, Akali Nihang Guru Gobind Singh eulogises Rudra's exploits in a composition named 'Rudra Avtar' found within Dasam Guru Durbar.
