The evil of 'Turk' rule in Hindustan was to be established finally by Shahabuddin Mohammad Ghauri of Afghanistan in 1192.

However, pockets of Rajput resistance would continue through to the 16th century lead by mighty warriors like Rana Sanga and Maharana Pratap. The Sunni Muslim invaders were hell bent on destroying the Hindu faith and converting all Hindus to Sunni Islam.

To the Muslim invaders, the Hindus were 'Kafirs' (infidels) - no better than dogs to be treated worse than dogs for not accepting the religion of the Prophet.

A thirteenth century Muslim, King Alauddin Khilji (according to Mahan Kosh sv Musalman Da Bharat Vich Raj ruled India 1296 - 1316), once asked a 'Kazi' (Muslim judge) what the Muslim law 'Sharia' stated with regards to the treatment of Hindus:

“Hindus are like the earth if a 'Moman' (Faithful Muslim) asks for silver of them they must present him gold. Hindu infidels are like sugarcane the more you crush them, the more juice they give. If a Moman spits, a Hindu with happiness should open his mouth and take it. The compassionate Supreme Being has created Hindus to serve Momans. In 'Hadith Jiaola' (saying attributed to the Prophet) the master Prophet has said kill, plunder and enslave the infidels. A Hindus property for a Muslim is as if mother's milk. In order to convert a Hindu, as much as a Morman tortures him so much place in heaven Supreme Being will give him.”
('Twarikh Alai', Amir Khusro, as quoted in 'Twarikh Guru Khalsa', Gian Singh, Bhasha Bihbhag, Punjab, 1993, 1:47)
