The numbers of hostile threats received have been insignificant compared to thousands of accolades in exposing the world to the 'Boh Panthi' (pluralistic) aspects of Sanatan Sikhs.
At present, there are 5 Sanatan Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya 'Shiv Akhara' (martial arts schools) in the UK:
a) Wolverhampton
b) Birmingham
c) Leicester
d) Cranford
e) Slough
There are regular master classes held in India, USA and Germany. Please visit the 'Akhara' section for more information on the locations of the 'Shiv Akhara'.
In addition, Sanatan Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya demonstrations and lectures are conducted on a regular basis at various establishments - both educational (Universities, Colleges, Schools, Student Camps), and cultural (Victoria & Albert Museum, The Wallace Collection, etc).
In 2004/5, Pangulong Guro Krishna Godhania approached Nihang Niddar Singh with regards to this battlefield artform, and two articles were subsequently published in Martial Arts Illustrated:
a) A look at the highly secretive Indian Martial Art of Shastarvidiya (September 2004)
b) The Tulwar (March 2005)
During the latter part of 2007, Nihang Niddar Singh spend time in Punjab, working on a documentary on the 'Chakram'. This documentary has been presented by Mike Loades in September 2008 as part of the 'Weapon Masters' series on the Discovery Channel (USA).
