Within the 'Sanatan' (traditional) Sikh context, this term refers to any place where is placed Sikh scriptures for reading.

One of the four sedentary Sikh temporal seats of authority:
1) Sach Khand Sri Akal Takht Sahib(Amritsar, Punjab)
2) Sach Khand Sri Patna Sahib (Patna, Bihar)
3) Sach Khand Sri Kesgarh Sahib (Anandpur Sahib, Punjab)
4) Sach Khand Sri Hazur Sahib (Nanded, Maharastra)

And the fifth itinerant Takht - the 'Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa Buddha Dal'.
