Also known as 'Tilak', 'Tilak Lagona'.

Ancient Hindu Sikh warrior practise of anointing weapons with the blood of a freshly decapitated 'Chatanga' (goat).

This institution, central to Sanatan Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya was started a the 'Akal Takht' by the 6th Sikh Guru, Akali Guru Hargobind in 1606. In addition to the weapons, the 'Nishaan Sahib' (battle standards), 'Nagara' (battle drums) and foreheads of Hindu Sikh warriors.

Also refers to the practice of anointing the forehead with 'Chandan' (sandlewood), which is said to 'cool' the mind.
